Why do you ask for my e-mail address and phone number?
The first time you run MoreStocks from a Palm webOS device, you'll be asked to create your profile. This information is needed in order to store your personal settings (including stock list, portfolio transactions and price alerts) so that it isn't shared with anyone else. This lets you automatically view your personal portfolio if you ever reset your phone or get a new one. You won't need to re-enter all your information all over again.
The other big advantage is that it enables some cool features, like instant price alert notifications, to automatically work even if the app is closed. Your battery won't drain so fast since it doesn't constantly refresh to see if prices have been met. Our servers will do the heavy lifting for you.
We promise not to spam you, or share your information with spammers. Occasionally, e-mails are sent out to notify users of new features or enhancements, but we include an unsubscribe link in each one, so you have the ability to opt out of future messages.
What restrictions are placed on the trial version?
All features of the paid version are available during your trial. However, when the trial expires, you cannot access your saved information. You will see a reminder 3 days before the trial expires.
What happens when my trial expires?
MoreStocks will no longer show your information, but your stock list, transactions and price alert settings are preserved. If you pay for the full version, your personal information is preserved and you never need to re-enter anything. In fact, you don't even need to reinstall the program on your phone.
What phones are compatible with MoreStocks?
At this time, MoreStocks is compatible with all worldwide Palm webOS devices (such as the Pre and Pixi). We are currently working on making MoreStocks available on additional models. Let us know if there's a device where you want MoreStocks.
I got a new phone — now what?
If you have a new Palm webOS device (like the Palm Pre), you don't need to do anything special! When you run the app, fill in your profile (e-mail address and phone number) and you will be prompted to migrate your profile. This will automatically activate your new phone. Beware that any copies of MoreStocks on your old phone will no longer be functional. You cannot return to that old phone at a future time.
Does MoreStocks use the "cloud"?
Yes, it does! Since nearly no information is stored locally on your phone, MoreStocks uses the "cloud" to centralize your data. This offers several unique advantages.
  • Transition between phones without re-entering your information — When MoreStocks becomes available on other devices, everything will be available on its own.
  • Overcome specific phone deficiencies — For example, background apps can drain your battery very quickly. However, since your data is stored in the cloud, More Solutions can automatically notify you when stocks reach your desired trigger price.
  • Don't worry about losing your information — If you lose your phone, your data is still preserved. Just contact us to activate your new phone, and your stock portfolio will be automatically available on the new phone. It's one less thing to worry about.
Where is my data stored?
A minimal set of personal information is stored on your phone (e-mail address, phone number and other identifiers). The rest of your information is stored on the More Solutions servers. Rest assured that your information is secure and only available to you. Your unique information is used to guarantee access to your private information.
Do you share my personal information with third parties?
Absolutely not! We hate spam and marketers just as much as you. We promise not to share your personal information with anyone else.
